Goldstream Cabins

     Similar to the Franklin Street Cabin #1, this 16x20 log cabin is likewise is in beautiful Goldstream Valley, just six miles from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and adjacent to bike, dog-mushing, and ski trails.

     This is a non-smoking cabin, with no dogs/cats allowed. Other pets on approval. Please visit the Rental Process page for rental details.

Features:

* 16x20 log cabin, 2x6 frame gables, steel roof, and treated wood deck.

* Logs joints are insulated and caulked. Floor, gable walls and roof are insulated with high-density, closed-cell, spray-in soy/urethane foam (R-40 frame gables and floor, and R-60 roof).

* 92 percent efficient Monitor oil heater with 200 gallon fuel tank.

* Triple-pane Northerm Low E, argon-filled windows, preferred by the Alaska Cold Climate Housing Research Center. Insulated fiberglass entry door and storm door.

 * Hot/cold water to large kitchen sink, fed by 100 gallon water tank, pump/pressure tank, and four gallon instant water heater. Heat-traced and foam-insulated drain line means freeze-ups and no messy slop buckets!

* Modern appliances: electric ceramic burner range, 17 cf refrigerator, microwave and through-wall range ventilation hood.

* Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) to optimize air quality.

* Laminate floor downstairs, carpet upstairs.

* Hickory kitchen cabinets and laminate countertops.

* Electric back-up wall heater that comes on should cabin temperature drop to 50 degrees. (A useful feature should you forget to fill the oil tank.)
